This past weekend, Fordham University held their annual Resident Assistants retreat at
Deer Hill. Part of Fordham's program is an afternoon on our Low Ropes course which proved to be a very successful aspect of their retreat. We look forward to hosting Fordham University in the future. |

This weekend, Deer Hill hosted a retreat for the staff of Fort Green Beacon.
Although the retreat was only one overnight, much was accomplished within their organization and they enjoyed a much needed break from their home base in NYC. |
|
Several families who live and work near Ground Zero in NYC chose Deer Hill as a sancuary
to process the tragedy of Sept. 11 this past weekend. Sharing experiences and seeking solace with each other was a welcome relief. Children swam, played, and built a "fairy village" under a large pine tree. A stray kitten was adopted and life was renewed as they returned to their homes in NYC. |

On September 7 - 9, Deer Hill hosted the Young Explorers. Led by Eric Green, the Young
Explorers are a close-knit running group made up of youngsters based in Brooklyn, NY. The group stayed in Ingalls Lodge and used our grounds for their running activities. Deer Hill is looking forward to the Young Explorer's next stay. |

On September 7 - 8, Deer Hill hosted the Board of Directors for the Metro Association of
the NY Conference of the UCC from Friday dinner through Saturday lunch. The group occupied historic Sherwin house throughout their stay and were a pleasure to host. We look forward to another visit in the near future. |

From August 18 through August 30, Deer Hill Center again hosted Prep For Prep's
Aspects of Leadership retreats. With three trips and high numbers of students, a large amount of planning and preparation must take place. Prep For Prep as well as Deer Hill Center both did remarkable jobs in the running of this successful program. Prep For Prep's August retreats mark the end of summer and we look forward to seeing them again this Fall. |

On August 25- 26, Deer Hill hosted Vassar College's annual Student Fellows retreat. This
year Deer Hill provided an large tent which Vassar enjoyed meeting under as well as using it for their arrival breakfast and their Sunday BBQ. Although this is an intense two-day event with many speakers and activities, the Vassar students found time to swim and enjoy some introductory ice-breaker games led by Russell Teamer; our in-house Ropes instructor as well as Deer Hill's Director of Operations. We anticipate another successful Student Fellows retreat with Vassar in 2002. |

On the weekend of August 3 - 5, Women Unlimited held another successful summer
retreat at Deer Hill. The group is led by Deer Hill Board Member, Lois Seulowitz and we look forward to seeing everyone on their next visit. |

On August 3 -9, Deer Hill hosted P.A.C.T., an international group that held their retreat for
the first time at our Center. P.A.C.T. is a close-knit international organization commited to the excellence of cross-cultural techniques, with the goal of personal and global transformation. The event was a great success and Deer Hill looks forward to working with this group in the future. |

On August 11 - 12, The Newark, NJ based Wight Foundation held their annual retreat at
Deer Hill. The group consisted of 9th - 12th graders as well as adults and chaperones. This is The Wight Foundation's second retreat at Deer Hill and we hope to see this group again next summer. |

On August 11 - 14, Poly Prep's senior class held a 4 day retreat at Deer Hill. The students
were wonderful and enjoyed a Low/High Ropes experience on Sunday, Aug. 12. |

On July 25 - 27, The Posse Foundation held their second to last retreat at Deer Hill. The
group stayed in Ingall's Lodge and again enjoyed a fantastic High Ropes experience. |

Re-evaluation Co-counseling held a four-day East Coast Asian workshop at Deer Hill from
July 26 - 29. Led by Mike Ishii, the retreat was a success and as always, it was a pleasure to host this organization. |

The Posse Foundation held their final retreat for 2001 on July 27 - 29. Deer Hill is looking
forward to next year's retreats with this wonderful organization. |

On July 18 - 20 Deer Hill hosted the Posse Foundation's 3rd summer retreat. There are six
Posse retreats this summer and Deer Hill is proud to be a part of their program. During their stay, each Posse group is led through our High Ropes course by Russell Teamer, our in-house facilitator, along with adjunct staff. The Posse takes full advantage of this great learning experience and incorporates it into their program.
On July 20 - 22 another Posse group spent the weekend at Deer Hill and enjoyed their
stay in Ingalls Lodge as well as a tremendous experience on the High Ropes course.

Along with the Posse on the weekend of July 20 - 22, Deer Hill hosted No Lmits For
Women In The Arts. No Limits is a nationwide network of about 80 women artists' groups. Women in the network are committed to supporting each other to reclaim their complete intelligence and effectively eliminate patterns that are a result of social oppression and personal history. No Limits is based on the theory and practice of Re-evaluation Co- counseling. |
